Ensure NHS Services Are Available To Those Most In Need This Winter
Wendy urges residents to help ensure local NHS services are available for the most vulnerable
An advertising campaign aimed at encouraging responsible use of the NHS over the winter period has got the support of Wendy Alexander MSP.
Speaking about the campaign Paisley North MSP Wendy said:
“We all have a responsibility to look after our health and to look out for others such as elderly neighbours - particularly at this time of year.
“NHS24 and Argyll and Clyde Health Board have been working together to improve their capacity to deal with out-of-hours calls in Renfrewshire this winter.
“But it is important that the public play their part in helping the NHS to ensure that the most in need can get help first.
“Practical steps to take are:
“Ask your pharmacist for advice on treatments for common winter illnesses.
“If you take repeat medication, make sure that your doctor gives you a prescription to cover holiday periods such as Christmas and New Year.
“Use out of hours services only when you think it can’t wait until your GP practice is open. ”
