Congratulations for St. Mirren FC

 Paisley North MSP Wendy Alexander has taken time out from maternity leave to lodge a Scottish Parliamentary motion to congratulate St. Mirren FC on winning the First Division Championship.

Wendy urged fellow MSP’s to recognise the achievement and wish the club well in the Scottish Premier League next year.

Wendy said:

“Winning the First Division and Challenge Cup caps a great season for St Mirren. I’m sure it is a sign of good things to come next year. Well done to Gus MacPherson, the team and all involved with the club.”

St Mirren Chairman Stewart Gilmour said:

“We are delighted by the way the season has gone, particularly for the manager, his assistant, the players and all the fans. We are pleased to have received great support from our local politicians over the season and our achievement will give everybody in Paisley a lift. The management and players are also looking forward to celebrating the success on the open top bus tour of the town and reception at the Council.”
