TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ADULT LEARNERS EVENTS
Tuesday, 23rd May 2006Ferguslie Learning Centre is celebrating Adult Learners Week on Thursday 25th May with an educational and health themed event in the Tannahill Centre, Blackstoun Road, Ferguslie Park between 10-2pm. Wendy Alexander MSP popped in to learn more about what will be on offer for Adult Learners.
The idea of the day is to allow adults to explore their options with regards to their educational or health needs.
Wendy said:”I would urge all Buddies to pop into Ferguslie Learning Centre on Thursday to see what is on offer. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up a new skill or chat to experts.”
Denis Docherty, Reid Kerr’s Community Development Manager said:
“The Learning Centre will also be holding workshops throughout the day with sessions in computing for beginners and Graphics where people can test out their skills on the Internet, create posters and leaflets or write letters.”
Many agencies and partners such as Digital Buddies, RCHI, Community Police, Renfrewshire Council, Paisley Partnership and the Digital Inclusion Project, are coming along to support the event. Throughout the day the local community can enter competitions, have their blood pressure taken, sample fruit Kebabs, enjoy a hand massage or take the opportunity to speak to a variety of training providers, funding sources and health experts.
