PRESTIGIOUS ACCOLADE FOR ACCORD

Monday, 5th June 2006

Accord Hospice has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The award recognises the excellence in voluntary activities carried out by community groups.

The hospice is one of only 103 groups that will receive the prestigious award this year.

Wendy Alexander MSP for Paisley North nominated Accord for the award.

Speaking on news of the award Wendy said:

“I am absolutely delighted to see this important and well deserved honour going to Accord. It is hard to exaggerate the impact the hospice has in caring for the seriously ill in our community. This is a feather in the cap for both Accord and the whole town for all their fantastic efforts.”
