Wendy Welcomes New Braehead Bus Service

Wendy Alexander has welcomed an early Christmas present for Renfrewshire bus users.  

Arriva has introduced a new service linking Bridge of Weir, Houston and Linwood to Braehead Shopping Centre via Glasgow Airport.

 The number 6 bus, which operates between Monday and Saturday, will run from Peat Road, Bridge of Weir through Houston, Linwood Clippens and Village, Glasgow Airport and Braehead Shopping Centre (via Xscape). Buses set out from Peat Road at 8.10am, 9.19am and 9.49am and depart half hourly thereafter until 8.19pm.   

They return from Braehead at 9.00am, 10.05am, 10.35am and depart half hourly thereafter until 9.15pm.    

The service is operating on a 3 month trial period.      

Ms Alexander said: “I’m delighted that Arriva has launched this excellent new service. 

“Renfrewshire has lost a number of bus services in the last few years, so the introduction of the number 6 is particularly welcome.    

“This is great news for local people intending to do some Christmas shopping at Braehead.
