Human Trafficking
The local Amnesty International group came to see me about Human Trafficking, its impact in Scotland and what could be done.
Below is a note on the issue I commissioned from the Scottish Parliament Research Services. I am also supporting the Scottish Equalities Commission major Inquiry into Human Trafficking in Scotland which was announced in Feb 2010 and expected to report in summer 2011. Please also see the note below on the work of Stop the Traffik the global campaign against people trafficking, which has been so successful in moving chocolate manufacturers to fairly traded cocoa products that do not rely on trafficked child labour.
If you have views on these issues please email me.
