Santa supports charities as bankers withdraw
One of the most imaginative Christmas presents I have come across this year is from the National Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). They have been running a Santa reply service. For a small donation to the NSPCC they will send a colourful, personalised letter from Santa to your child. For more information and to order call 0845 839 9304 or online at www.nspcc.org.uk/santa . You’ll have act quickly to use the service this year as the last day for ordering is the 16th. Read more »

Wendy Alexander MSP added her support to Carers UK’s national carers’ rights campaign on Friday 4th December 2009.
There are 18031 carers in Renfrewshire who provide care and support to family, friends and neighbours, providing unpaid care worth an estimated £261 million each year. The Carers Rights Day campaign, run by Carers UK, seeks to increase the take-up of benefits and raise awareness of carers’ rights and the support that they may be able to get in order to protect their pensions. It might be the Carer’s Allowance, council tax discount, Pension Credit or Housing Benefit that makes a difference. Read more »

Understandably that part of the exercise would likely require the largest amount of administering to get them to the right people – including, I would imagine security checking of all boxes.
