RENFREWSHIRE COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS CAN BENEFIT FROM NEW FUNDING
Friday, 5th June 2009- Wendy urges community groups to apply -
Wendy Alexander MSP is urging Renfrewshire Organisations to apply for their share of a new £10.2 million fund. £450,000 of this fund could come to Renfrewshire. This funding is aimed at community and voluntary organisations that aim to serve and involve local communities. Funding will support grass roots advice and advocacy services to break down discrimination and inequality in areas including education, health and employment. The Commission will prioritise funding for activity that directly serves and involves individuals and local communities, meets an unmet need and inspires longer-term work.
Wendy said:
“I strongly urge community and voluntary organisations in Renfrewshire to apply and make use of this funding to promote human rights. Last year none of the funding that was provided came to Renfrewshire and I want to change that.”
