Scotland to Gaza 2009 Convoy Mission Complete!
Thursday, 30th April 2009After the first delivery earlier this week, the second and final trenche of medical aid and equipment, including that collected by MSPs from local pharmacies and donated by Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health board finally entered Gaza today.
The Scotland to Gaza convoy team, headed by Denis Rutovitz of Edinburgh Direct Aid, have remained with the convoy to ensure the safe delivery of medicines and equipment to clinics and hospitals in Gaza. Welcoming the completed convoy gaining entry to Gaza, Wendy Alexander MSP said: “I am delighted that the medical aid and equipment collected in Scotland has arrived in Gaza, completing the Scotland to Gaza mission 2009. After much red tape and customs negotiations, the convoy persevered to success. The people of Gaza know that Scotland has played its part in responding to the Humanitarian crisis.”
