Tuesday, 22nd December 2009
Paisley North MSP Wendy Alexander has turned her hand to cooking in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care this Festive Season.
The local Labour MSP submitted one of 60 recipes for the charity cookbook “MSPs’ Gut Feelings” which is being sold for £9.99 and aims to raise £20,000 for the worthy cause.
So far more than £10,000 and 2100 copies of the cookbook have been sold.
Politicians from all parties were asked to submit their favourite recipes to the book. Wendy submitted a recipe for a savoury cheese cake starter served with parmesan crisps, which she claims goes down well with dinner guests! 1475 744 422.
Speaking about the book, Wendy Alexander said:
“I have no doubt people will be amused at the idea of me giving advice on cooking but this was for a very good cause and my savoury cheese cake starter with parmesan crisps always goes down well with dinner guests!
“Marie Curie’s work helping people with cancer is outstanding. They make a huge contribution to cancer care in Scotland and I was more than happy to share this recipe to help raise vital funds for the cause.”
