WENDY QUIZZED BY PAISLEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL PUPILS
Wednesday, 7th June 2006Paisley North MSP Wendy Alexander visited Paisley Grammar School as part of the MSP’s in schools programme run by the Scottish Parliament.
S2 pupils had the opportunity to question Wendy on issues such as lowering the voting age, antisocial behaviour, alcohol and tobacco advertising and Barshaw Park.
Speaking at the event, Wendy said:
“It is great to see young people taking an interest in politics. The pupils obviously put a great deal of work into their presentations and questions. I was given a wide range of questions that showed an in-depth understanding of the issues that affect young people in Renfrewshire.
“The MSP’s in schools programme lets pupils engage with the Scottish Parliament. Maybe one day we will see pupils from this class at Paisley Grammar standing for election in the Paisley and Renfrewshire area.”
