Wendy welcomes progress on M74-M8 missing link

Wendy Alexander today welcomed the M74 project moving a step closer to completion.  As work gets underway near Shields Rd Underground on the piers which will join the new section of the M74 – the ‘missing link’ -  to the M8.

Wendy said

“I have been long been a strong supporter of this motorway “missing link”.  As Transport Minister I was in no doubt this project needed support. Renfrewshire companies want this link so they can cut out the congestion on the Kingston Bridge and head straight to vital markets in the south. Well established Renfrewshire companies like Chivas, HP and the Chamber of Commerce have been strong supporters of the link. Anyone who regularly endures congestion on the Kingston Bridge will welcome the next stage in construction getting underway”.
