Wendys Plea for Ralston Play Park
Tuesday, 27th January 2009Wendy is taking up the case of many concerned constituents in Ralston regarding the future of the play park at Ralston.
Wendy said
“My constituents are understandably unhappy that the future of any play park at Allanton now seems under threat. It has been present in the community for 50 years and understandably the local community do not wish to lose it altogether.
“The Council has not provided the clear guarantees about its future local families are looking for. I have written to the Council on the matter.
Parents want straight answers.
Has Renfrewshire Council taken the decision to permanently remove this play park from this location despite previous planning considerations?
If the play park is not being reinstated at its present location why and what is being done to reinstate a play park in the community?
What facilities will a new playpark have and will the local community be consulted?
I am hoping the Council will think again. Children need safe outdoor playparks if they are to be active, healthy and safe as we all wish. It would be a shame, after 50 years, for Ralston to lose its only public play park forever.”
